What apron style is best for my needs?

How can an Envirolite apron protect me if there's no lead in it?
Lead isn't the only material that can protect you from scatter radiation. It's just the material traditionally used. BMS's Envirolite uses a proprietary blend of composite metals to offer you the same protection as lead at a significantly lower weight.
I can't decide on a protective material?
If you want to have the lightest apron possible and/or want to be lead free, consider an Envirolite apron. If you want reduced weight and high durability at a great price, consider a Burlite apron. If weight is not a priority, consider a Lead apron.
Which protection level do I need?
To determine your requirements, contact the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) of your facility for the required protection levels. Unfortunately, BMS cannot advise you on proper protection levels.

What is your production time for web orders?
  • Stock items such as Non-Rx Leaded Eyewear will ship within 5 days.
  • Thyroid Shields will ship within 2 weeks.
  • Aprons and other made-to-order items will ship within 3 weeks.
  • Prescription Eyewear will ship within 3 weeks
Orders will typically ship together and will ship when the items with the longest lead time are complete.
What are your shipping times?
  • Fedex Ground: 1-5 business days within continental U.S. and up to 7 days for AK or HI.
  • Fedex International Economy: 5-10 Business Days.
How is your sales tax calculated?

Your order may be subject to local sales tax, depending on the state to which the item is being shipped. We are required to charge sales tax in all states that we have a physical location.
